Second Edition of the Winter Festival 2025

 We are pleased to invite you to the second edition of the Winter Festival 2025,
an unmissable event for the whole family.

This edition promises to be full of discoveries and entertainment, with creative winter activities, captivating film screenings, fun workshops and a magical evening to celebrate Valentine's Day!

Synopsis

In 1823, the kingdom of Dahomey in West Africa was coveted by neighboring nations, as well as by Europeans. The Agojies, an army made up of women, ensured its defense, in agreement with the king.

Note: In celebration of Black History Month, we are offering the screening of the iconic film La Femme Roi, which highlights the inspiring story of the Dahomey Amazons, an elite female warrior regiment that left its mark on West Africa in the 19th century. This screening will be an opportunity to discover a little-known part of African history, driven by powerful staging and unforgettable performances.

  • Synopsis: Always fascinated by the world of humans, the young mermaid Ariel would like to be able to leave the depths of the sea and go and discover the many secrets of the terrestrial universe. On a stormy night, she saves Prince Eric from certain death. The latter then becomes obsessed with the idea of finding the one who saved his life.

  • Note: In celebration of Black History Month, we are offering you the release of The Little Mermaid (2023). For the first time in Disney history, the main character, Ariel, is played by an actress from the African-American community, Halle Bailey. This choice marks a significant shift in representation and inclusivity within mainstream cinema. By offering a new take on the classic tale, this adaptation celebrates diversity and opens the door to better representation of minorities in the cinematic universe.

👩‍🍳 15 h 00 : Atelier de cuisine pour enfants (9-12 ans).

3:00 p.m. – Cooking workshop : Children ages 9 to 12 will learn how to prepare delicious dishes in this fun cooking workshop. They will leave with tips and recipes that they can recreate at home. The workshop will be held at Rocher du Nord – 425 Topsail Road. Event on the website.

These activities are reserved for students from the Rocher du Nord and Grands-Vents schools.

  • Thursday, February 13, 2025 – 5:30 p.m.: Outdoor winter walk to Kent's Pond

    Come immerse yourself in the beauty of winter with an outdoor winter stroll to Kent's Pond.

    Enjoy sparkling snow, calming scenery and fresh air on a guided walk through nature-encrusted trails. This activity is ideal for nature lovers, families and anyone looking to experience the magic of winter.

    • Departure time: 5:30 p.m.
    • Departure location: CSC des Grands Vents
    • Place of arrival: Kent's Pond
      (bring appropriate clothing for winter weather)
    • Estimated duration: About 1 hour
    • Level : Accessible to all levels
    • Registrations: Online registration is recommended to guarantee your place, but on-site registration will also be possible within the limit of available places.
